Dear Dr. Dobson, Tony Perkins, Lou Sheldon, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and any other confused human being that likes to scapegoat gays for their own miseries in life:
I know I will never convince you of how wrong you are. I won't even try. I honestly feel sorry for all of you. We have all been given the most incredible gift of life from God. You are wasting that gift spending your life's work attacking other people. I used to get mad at all of you. Now I just feel sorry for you. While we are living our lives, falling in love, dreaming, laughing, and dancing, you are plotting, and scheming, and hating. It must eat you up inside to have this hate for people that you don't even know. I originally wrote a long and bitter 30-page letter to Dr. Dobson.
After rereading it, I realized that I was letting you win. You got to me. I became like you. As I reread the letter I realized I had become full of anger and hate. I was miserable doing the research for this website. It was very depressing. For two years I researched everything anti-gay. I had no idea how organized and political the anti-gay movement is. For 2 years, I set my yahoo search words to gay, anti-gay, James Dobson, marriage amendment, gay hate crimes, gay adoption, gay parents etc.
I would receive every article written around the world that had anything to do with being gay. You could say I became obsessed. I am probably the most educated person in the world (besides HRC) when it comes to the subject of gays and politics. http://www.valuallfamilies.com/ is my response to all of it. I have a Master's degree and I know how to do research. I know the difference between valid research and bogus research. This site will expose how there are only a few groups in the entire country that have this anti-gay hatred. Only a few people tie all of these hate-groups together. The biggest leaders, ie. Dobson, Sheldon, Perkins....become extremely powerful and rich.
They get calls from the White House. They are an easy way to get a lot of votes. This website will expose each group and discuss their leaders. James Dobson, it didn't take me long to realize you are the "Kingpin" the "Queen Bee". You are the guy with the most power and the biggest chip on your shoulder when it comes to gays. Because of you, and the 10 page letter of lies that you sent out bashing gays, I decided to devote 2 years of my time to designing a website that will disprove everything that you say. It wasn't hard. With the invention of the Internet and http://www.google.com/ I can back up all of my points with millions of articles. Unfortunately, nothing that you say is backed up by any valid source. The only scientific community and research that you use is Narth (National Organization for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality.)
This group "sounds" credible, but as I will show, it is completely bogus. It is a fake research group that does not do "valid" acceptable research. It is run by a few confused, bigoted people that are the laughing stock of the scientific community. A prime example is Paul Cameron http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/html/facts_cameron.html Almost every "study" that you site is from this quack who has been removed from his profession community and kicked out of the American Psychological Association.
His personal opinions completely invalidate his research throughout and the result of his "studies" can be guessed way before they are conducted. He does not use proper research methods and you and many government officials use his bogus research to fuel your bigotry. http://www.valueallfamilies.com/ will expose all of it. It is amazing that he ever got published.
With proper research methods there is a value given to each study to determine its validity. It is called a "P value." I would love to know what Paul's P values are?
Just Recently in the December 18th issue of Time Magazine, James Dobson, you wrote an opinion page that bashed Mary Cheney, gay parents, and gays in general. In the article, you cited only two professors to back up these claims.
Here is their response to you:
Dear Dr. Dobson:
I am writing to ask that you cease and desist from quoting my research in the future. I was mortified to learn that you had distorted my work this week in a guest column you wrote in Time Magazine. Not only did you take my research out of context, you did so without my knowledge to support discriminatory goals that I do not agree with. What you wrote was not truthful and I ask that you refrain from ever quoting me again and that you apologize for twisting my work.
From what I understand, this is not the first time you have manipulated research in pursuit of your goals. This practice is not in the best interest of scientific inquiry, nor does bearing false witness serve your purpose of furthering morality and strengthening the family.
Finally, there is nothing in my research that would lead you to draw the stated conclusions you did in the Time article. My work in no way suggests same-gender families are harmful to children or can't raise these children to be as healthy and well adjusted as those brought up in traditional households.
I trust that this will be the last time my work is cited by Focus on the Family.
Sincerely,
Carol Gilligan, PhD

Dr. Dobson,
I was startled and disappointed to see my work referenced in the current Time Magazine piece in which you opined that social science, such as mine, supports your convictions opposing lesbian and gay parenthood. I write now to insist that you not quote from my research in your media campaigns, personal or corporate, without previously securing my permission.
You cherry-picked a phrase to shore up highly (in my view) discriminatory purposes. This practice is condemned in real science, common though it may be in pseudo-science circles. There is nothing in my longitudinal research or any of my writings to support such conclusions. On page 134 of the book you cite in your piece, I wrote, What we do know is that there is no reason for concern about the development or psychological competence of children living with gay fathers. It is love that binds relationships, not sex.
Kyle Pruett, M.D.
Yale School of Medicine
The Oregonian, Pruett stated: "I was quite surprised, even dumbfounded, to see my name listed as if it were a scientific support or consultant to this amendment. ... It couldn't be further than either my personal or professional position." Pruett stated that he does not conclude "either scientifically or psychologically" that children are best served if reared by two heterosexual parents, and added: "There is to date no credible research that says children raised by gay and lesbian couples are at risk." According to The Oregonian, Pruett concluded that "children generally fare better with two parents than one, including parents of the same gender."

Kind of embarassing isn't it James?
Your anti-gay groups are experts for sounding "official" with words such as "research" in their names. I.e. Family "Research" Council. Actually Family Research Council does no research. You also try to sound all warm and cuddly with "family" in several of your group's names. You are masters of ignoring most of America's families. Those that are parented by one person, those that have been divorced, and those that are parented by gay Americans. I have a news flash for you: You are not the only people with families in this country. Every citizen counts just as much as every other citizen. Gay or straight, black or white, ignorant bigot or Harvard law graduate. All Americans. All deserve the same rights.
http://www.valueALLfamilies.com/ was started to combat all the lies one by one. It will be divided into 4 sections:
#1. Myths and Lies about Gays
#2. Walk in Our Shoes
#3. Religion
#4. Politics
Not too much to cover now is it?
Section one:
This section will disprove all the garbage out there that you put out about gays.
That being gay is a "choice".
That there is a gay "lifestyle".
That God disproves of gays.
That gays are bad for society.
That gays make bad parents.
That gays are anti-family.
That gays molest children.
That gays are into bestiality.
and yes...
That gays cause hurricanes.
All of these points will be completely proven wrong. It will be quite clear how people like you are using gays as scapegoats to line thier own pockets with not a care in the world as to the repercussions for gay Americans.
This will be Section two:
II. Walk in Our Shoes
This section will show what it is like to grow up gay. What it is like to doubt yourself in a world full of ignorance and hate. It is here that I will list all the hate crimes. It is here that I will list all the suicides and murders. It is here that I will list all of the civil rights violations and discriminations that gay Americans face everyday. I will make it clear that hatecrimes legislation is not a "special" right.
Section Three
III. Religion
This section will be very interesting. It will go through and show how the Bible has been used against gay people since the beginning of time. It will show how people interpret the Bible one way when it applies to gay people. Then another way when it applies to themselves. It will show the flawed logic of "picking and choosing" from the Bible. I don't disagree that there are some pretty cut and dry passages condemning some forms of homosexuality in the Bible.
What I will show is that the passages are referring to terrible forms of sex whether it is straight or gay. The Bible is talking about rape, violence, and promiscuity in the few passages referenced. It says nothing about two gay people in love. Jesus said not one word about two gay people in love. If you want some constitutional amendments based on what the Bible says literally from thousands of years ago, then outlaw divorce and outlaw infidelity. Those are biggies. Those have a real impact on marriage. Like a good defense attorney would do, I will make it clear that if you follow a certain logic then you have to apply it to all cases. Otherwise you are picking and choosing. Otherwise it is obvious discrimination.
I will list all the religions that have a problem with homosexuality. I will list all religions that do not have a problem with homosexuality. When doing the research, one thing I was completely amazed with, is how many religious people do not have a problem with homosexuality. With how many religious people care more about a person's character and whether they are a good person than whom they fall in love with.
Section 4
IV. Politics
Another quiet topic.....
This section will list all pro-gay politicians. It will list all anti-gay politicians.
For example: I have a woman from Tennesee. Debra Maggart. A State Representative. I have her quoting that gays adopt children to molest them. http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2006/04/03/6
Normal, average, everyday Americans trying to get by just like everyone else. It is only the few. It is only the extreme far right that lives in the dark ages. Time is on our side. The old caveman thinking is literally dying off. Jerrry Falwell is the beginning. The younger generation all know, and are friends with, someone gay by now. All we need is for them to become lawmakers. It will happen soon. It is happening at a rapid pace. We look forward to speeding the process up. That will be our legacy.
Adolf Dobson, my question to you is:
