The ignoramus is being inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame today in Chicago. Here are some gems of wisdom from Mr. Adolph Dobson:
"For more than 40 years, the gay rights movement has sought to implement a master plan that has had as its centerpiece the utter destruction of the family." James Dobson of Focus on the Family
"It appears likely now that the demise of families will accelerate this type of decline dramatically, resulting in a chaotic culture that will be devastating to children." James Dobson of Focus on the Family
"An even greater objective of the gay rights movement is to end the state's compelling interest in marital relationships altogether. After marriages have been redefined, divorces will be obtained instantly, will not involve a court, and will take on the status of a driver's license or a hunting permit. With the family out of the way, all rights and privileges of marriage will accrue to gay and lesbian partners without the legal entanglements and commitments heretofore associated with it." James Dobson of Focus on the Family
"This apocalyptic and pessimistic view of the institution of the family and its future will sound alarmist to many, but I think it will prove accurate unless--unless--God's people awaken and begin an even greater vigil of prayer for our nation." James Dobson of Focus on the Family
"Despite the danger that confronts us, I am hopeful that the death of the family can be averted. Most Americans still believe in the Judeo-Christian system of values, and millions of them are people of faith who are calling on the Lord for a miracle on behalf of our nation. That is the source of our confidence at such a perilous time.", James Dobson of Focus on the Family
The Radio Hall of Fame. This is what he preaches to millions of listeners and he will get rewarded for it tonight. Shows you what money can buy..
The silver lining..People of Chicago are going to protest his induction because of the $800,000 that his tax exempt 501c organization gave to influence the outcome of proposition 8 legislation in California. Let's see what the stipulation is to be tax exempt:
"Corporations organized and operated exclusively for religious purposes have no substantial part of the activities of which is carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting, to influence legislation."
This law is there so that religious organizations do not use their money and power to influence policy making. Therefore being true to separation of church and state.
"Because religious belief, or non-belief, is such an important part of every person's life, freedom of religion affects every individual. State churches that use government power to support themselves and force their views on persons of other faiths undermine all our civil rights. Moreover, state support of the church tends to make the clergy unresponsive to the people and leads to corruption within religion. Erecting the "wall of separation between church and state," therefore, is absolutely essential in a free society." Thomas Jefferson Founder of United States 3rd President (1743-1826)
So an Evangelical Christian tax exempt 501c. organization in Colorado decided that it was perfectly legal and proper to give almost one million dollars to influence the outcome of legislation being voted on in another state to change that state's constitution to discriminate against gay people. Does anyone else see the layers of wrong going on here?
