What I don't understand is when or where did America lose it's number one priority of protecting the minority from the majority. If America stands for anything it is equality and giving every citizen the same rights from the get go. What you do with it is your issue. Instead, one of our parties....(hummmmm which one?)Has decided not only to NOT protect a certain minority group but to exploit it, lie about it, use it, cause more danger to it and basically use the minority community as a doormat for political gain.
Giuliani has jumped on the gay bash wagon while campaigning in Iowa trying to court the high percentage of Evangelical Christians in the Rubblecan party there. When asked if he agreed with Hickabee's I mean Huckabee's belief that gay Americans are immoral and evil for existing he said this: "Gay people are not immoral it is the act that is immoral."
Sorry Rudolf, but gay people actually are human, they actually have sex drives and each and everyone of them will "commit" gay "acts." You can't separate the two. Do you really think Giuliani thinks every single gay person is a sinner for existing? Two gay men who were Rudy's friends actually took him in and gave him a place to stay while he was busy committing adultery and divorcing his wife. That is the thanks they get. "Sorry guys hope you don't mind that I use you and everyone else that's gay for my political advantage. No hard feelings right?"
That little weasel doesn't believe that a gay person is a sinner. He doesn't believe that a gay person making love to their committed life-partner is a sin. But he has decided to say those words on national TV to appeal to a small segment of fundamentalist Evangelical Christians to score some votes. Guess you can only say 9/11 so many times.
Shame on you Rudy. Shame on you for purposely fueling the ignorance for personal gain.
For a while, I actually thought Giuliani might not be a bad president if, God forbid, the fools come out in droves again in 2008. It is not his actual statement about gays that worries me. It goes deeper than that. It is that he chose the weasel's way out with an easy target for political gain. Shame on me for thinking there was such a thing as a Republican who is not a weasel.
